Actually, true balance or not doesn't matter... It's just a kind of "spec". Some people say full balance is good sound, some people say single ended is good sound. In general, if you don't need a lengthy interconnect, the advantage of full balance is not obvious.
In other words, what makes you choose full balance or not is just the actual listening experience instead of the "spec" if long distance interconnect is not what you need.
