Call of Duty 7 Under Development at Treyarch

Treyarch senior animator David Kim has let slip that Call of Duty 7 isunder development at the studio behind Call of Duty: World at War bylisting it on his LinkedIn profile.

"I am currently on my second title as a senior animator in the gamesindustry with Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7," reads Kim'sprofile, superannuation spotted.

Call of Duty 7--no doubt a working title--may be expected next yeargiven Activision's commitment to annual releases of its majorfranchises, and its "leapfrog" strategy which has seen Infinity Wardand Treyarch alternate CoD entries these past few years.

Kim's Call of Duty 7 listing follows recent rumors that the sequelcould be set in the Vietnam War era, based on the tunes Activision issupposedly seeking to license.

World at War senior producer Noah Heller of Treyarch stated last year,"I can't say that there won't ever be a WWII Call of Duty game again,"suggesting that World War 2 might be on the shelf for now--but he alsoraised several promising unexplored areas of WW2.

Obviously no platforms are known yet but the PC, Xbox 360 andPlayStation 3 are safe bets considering the franchise's history on theplatforms and recent Activision activity
