Sony playstation 3 can play blueray movie file?

As the subject, can convert the DVD/blueray IOS file to mkv file fit for playstation 3 to play the movie?

1)Via LAN cable : use freeware"PS3 Media Server " + Computer Router + LAN Cable ( may be CAT 5e) +

Note : Several Settings are needed.If you play mkv 1080 file + Chinese Subtitle ==> lag{:1_248:},however ,mkv 720p is OK{:1_335:} .

2) PS3 's USB support FAT 32 HDD / USB flask disk only ==> i.e. file size < 4G

3) If you have a lot of Blu-ray ISO file , buy Oppo 93 with previous firmware

4) If you have a lot of mkv file , 買部 Media Player 好過

Thanks a lot C hing's advice.
Why I want to buy Playstation3, the package price around HK$16xx with sony HX850.
I wish the PS3 can work as media player it play for DVD/BR IOS, if the PS3 can't, I will give up to buy it.{:1_336:}

buy Playstation3, the package price around HK$16xx with sony HX850.

==> It depends whether you want to play GAMES or not.   In addition, PS3 can play Blu-ray Disc . DVD ( 480p) Up-scaling to 1080i.

For the software PS3 Media Server setting , take a note

For Traditional Chinese Sub-title : remember to add ...chi.srt

==> MKV File Name: Transformers.Revenge.Fallen.1080p.BluRay.x264 DTS.mkv

==> SRT File Name : Transformers.Revenge.Fallen.1080p.BluRay.x264 DTS.chi.srt
