What's your source? Forget about USB la.
But if your source is really PC, then for me, the cheap cheap way is to use M2Tech HiFace RCA or BNC, if your DAC support BNC then use BNC.
HiFace RCA (version 1) is now $1100 and BNC version is about $1600 (I guess).
Don't try those Taobo DDC la, waste your $$$.

Anyway, actually, if you really want to try the USB, you should change your DAC with USB input, not a DDC to convert the USB back into Coaxial, that way, you're still using coxial in your DAC, not USB...

- m2tech hiface evo
- mf v-link 192
- stello u3

mf v-link 192-->唔sure
XMOS chip

我同意,賬面睇你啱。但又要換電又換clock加埋會唔會要4千尾?{:1_331:}

Wrong concept...................
Lots of DDC is much better than the internal USB of DAC............
My DAC already got a async USB input, but i still go for SOtM and got a huge improvement.............

都at least = U3 wor........

Oh, totally agree with you, DDC is much better. The reason I said that is simply because Kenneth said "我個 DAC 無 USB 但想試下 USB 入" so, shouldn't it be easier to change the DAC with USB so that the USB can go in? DDC doesn't really give him the experience on direct USB input. That's just my point. But agree and that's why I said in my 1st post that "forget about it"

I think you are talking USB to I2s, if my guess is right, USB to I2S is not the final solution, I2S is just a market gimmick.
The so call benifit of I2S is a pure directh digital signal path, but also due to it is so direct, if anything wrong from USB chip conversion, all error or jitter just feed directly into the DAC chip.
If you have a USB DDC with coaxial/AES and I2S, and a DAC with also coaxial/AES and I2S,except you DAC is not using low jitter receiver chip such as DIR9001 or WM8805 at software mode, otherwise compare coaxial/AES to coaxial/AES and I2S to I2S,I2S to I2S only fine with simple music, big picture high dynamic music may not as good as except, this is because the receiver chip doing re-clock with USB signal, it keep the jitter at least at a specific pps.
Simiar case to optical fiber (toslink) transmission, there is no lost within the optical fiber, but nobody will mention how many lost or change from the coversion and connetion.
The only way to have best I2S transmission, either internal or external, will be a special built fifo interface, but a real good fifo support 24/192 signal transfer, even DIY, will cost you up to few hundreds US dollar for only material cost, therefore, even very hi-end DAC may not use this solution.
Therefore, built in USB not really as good as expect, outboard USB also not as bad as imagine.

I think you have some misunderstanding abou USB configuration.
There is no so call direct USB input, no matter DDC or DAC, they are all using a USB audio chip, convert the USB data pack into PCM digital signl, the only difference is the PCM signal is transfer via I2S or so call S/PDIF, thereofore, it is also 2 section of circuit, USB audio data conversion and DAC, just put into one chassis or sperate.
