Next month sees the UK premiere performance of Howard Shore’s complete score for Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring performed against the film itself. The score and film have been doing the rounds in Europe and the United States in recent months, so it’s about time we got a look in on this spectacular concert. What makes the UK show all the more special is the fact that the live score will be performed by the original musicians who recorded the bulk of the material for the film. The London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Voices and London Oratory School Schola will take to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall under the baton of Ludwig Wicki for two nights, performing the epic score to picture – in HD no less. Maestro Wicki is well adversed in this music by now as for the last two years or more he has worked with the project in both his home country of Switzerland and on tour in the US last year. The second phase of the planned trilogy of concerts is already underway, with next week seeing the world premiere performance of The Two Towers in Lucerne, Switzerland (13th-17th March), while Fellowship returns to the US in October with two nights programmed at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.
If you want to take a magical trip to Middle Earth then get yourself to the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday April 13th or Wednesday April 14th at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced between £15 and £50, with special package deals available for the second night. Visit the venue’s website for further information, or telephone the box office on 020 7589 8212. 我反而想係六集Star Wars喎! 本帖最後由 大佬John 於 2009-9-18 20:15 編輯
