    I think nothing to do with the usb. It should be the power problem. Change power supply ?

I am not an expert in that but u can try to search for related posts in 76 as quite a few c hing discussed that.
On the other hand, for the power cord of the nas, you can try to disconnect the ground wire inside the 13a plug to c if that helps.
