80年代盛行舞曲，向來唱搖滾的Bonnie Tyler居然也來了一首，一樣由老搭檔Jim Steinman製作的〈Holding out for a Hero〉在1984年推出，一開始是收錄在電影《Footloose》的原聲帶裡面，這張原聲帶成績非常好，曾拿到美國專輯榜冠軍，算是所謂「MTV電影」的先驅者之一（之後像是《Top Gun》也是知名的例子）（後來收錄在1986年的專輯《Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire》），在英國最高到#4，但是在美國只到#34。
這首歌走舞曲形式，節奏強烈，搭配Bonnie Tyler極具爆發力的嗓音，雖然排行成績不理想，卻是歷久彌新，經常出現在電影電視，之後更是有多人翻唱。
