Ching, I just got mine and I am confused of how to set it up. I think my amp is just like yours onkyo 5009.
1. When you do the calibration, onkyo will ask you to setup the volume of the sub at 75db, do u do that or just leave the bass at reference level? or 0 db ?
2. When you watch movie, you will set the bass at what level? 0 db or reference level?

its so glad to meet same user here coz i m still struggling to get the best result from the combo. with limited knowledge and tried my best to throw light on our common concerns.
1. 75db is set during auto setup but make sure the right phase is obtained b4 that
2. it all depends but hard to get over 0db due to living environment
3. would it be some kind of standard relating to thx or dolby? anyway the standard is for reference only, so set it up according to ur feeling or favours is most important! 回復 14# kickass

Ching, I send an email to Ken Kreisel and got his feedback.
He said that we should set the bass level to Reference Level position when doing calibration. He also recommand we set the same position when watching movie, etc. cause Reference Level position is THX position (your guess is right). And if all the settings are switched to the green dot position, then all the adjustment of bass level, crossover frequency, delay, etc. should be done with our 5009 throught its speaker setup menu.
Certainly, this is only his recommadation. Anyway, happy new year!!! 回復 16# AirQQsky
