Okay, got some test done for you.
What I did was, have a CD, exact same setting, rip once before demagnetized, rip once after, and then rip again.
In EAC, there's track quality and confidence level. My test result summary is,
1. Before demagnetized, if the track quality is already 100% and confirmed with rip accurately (confidence 5), there will not be any difference after demagnetization. Confirmed with MD5 check.
2. Before demagnetized, if the track quality is not 100%, then after demagnetization, the track quality will change, BUT it can be increased or decreased. {:6_136:}. The difference can be 0.5% - 10%. Although the track quality of the re-rip after the demagnetized rip still change, but its not as much as the before and after demagnetized, its just about 1% difference with the previous one. Although I'm not sure how EAC determine the track quality, but, looks like demagnetization do actually change something.
So, conclusion is, demagnetization helps or not, depends on the quality & condition of the disc.

不好意思，想借你post問小小問題。因我看了你是用J River Media, 我也下載了trial ver試驗，發覺比itunes好聲，UI也很漂亮，support file format 也非常多，還可以rip碟。最重要它還有可用ipad 當remote選歌仔的app。因要方便給Boss選歌用。我看J River 裏面set-up 有很多option. 我現在是用defaulted 的，請問你有冇特色的set-up可以分享下？謝謝
